They ain't Christians, but because they call themselves Christians, they turn off a lot of people to real Christians - the ones NOT molesting children, but who are helping those in need, as Jesus told his followers to do.
Well, but they ARE Christians. You are what religion you call yourself, right? So yes they are Christians. They read the associated books and talk about the guy in the sky and Jesus - and that makes them Christians.
Are they GOOD Christians? Hellz naw. They are horrendous. But they’re Christians.
You can add Pastor Frank Stallings (Southern Baptist Conference) to this list, circa 1983, in my case, but I'm 100% positive that I was not the first nor the last. I believe he is deceased now as he was in his 50s then. I have looked often for an obituary, but not found one. When I "knew" him he was a pastor in Orchard Park, NY but around 1985/86 had moved to Harlan, KY. I wish I had the maturity and support to have addressed it at the time, but I didn't. I have had to work long and hard to alleviate the sense of guilt I felt over victims that I'm sure came after me. If anyone else knows/ knew of him/ or was victimized by him, I'm truly sorry. He is the primary reason that I left "Christianity" behind as I could no longer walk into a church with a pulpit after being told one Sunday morning how "nice it would be if I could 'service him' behind the pulpit while he was preaching." At that point, organized religion was out of the question after I left home.
Oh, man, that's so awful! I'm so sorry you had to go through that as a kid, but you shouldn't be so hard on yourself. As you say, you probably weren't the first or last but as a kid it wasn't your responsibility to take this guy down. In fact, back then, it probably wouldn't have been you who would have been believed if he disputed any of it.
Oh... agreed. When it came to light to my parents, when my sister told them, their response was, "Oh that's, too bad. At least your sister didn't lie about that." And just moved on with their agenda.
Spiritual advisor!!! Did not think it was possible for anyone to advise FELON 45/47 on any matter, he claims to have far greater knowledge than anyone. He’s the 🤴👑🤮 don’t you know
RIGHT?!!! THIS is what's obscene! Drag is a f**king art form! That they continue to attack such a small and tender community is absolutely unconscionable.
In my experience, SDA insular but not a cult; walked away with nary a backward glance at age 15, when my parents divorced, or 16, when I got a job that required me to work on the Sabbath (gasp!!).
Ta, Evan. Not a drag queen among them. Quelle surprise.
Conservative Bible Thumpers were once considered respectable purveyors of hope in an often ugly world...
Then came Television and later smart phones...now we find out everyday that the world is far uglier than we first thought...
This is an epidemic! Makes Christianity look like a not-nice place to take your kids to church.

I can't like this post and I'm so sorry that happened to you. Please be kind to yourself <3

Family values ?
I don’t think I saw this one on your list. If you have, forgive the duplication.

UGH THESE MONSTERS.
Conservatives will always pick their targets for hate every Sunday and proudly proclaim the hate for the remaining 6 Days of every week...
Where do they find the time to ensure the closet door stays shut tight...
