Unfortunately - feminism because of its (understandable) focus on women alone - wound up not creating space for these men to be raised differently, to understand that masculinity could involve such "feminine" things as being nurturers, collaborators, helpmeets, involved parents and partners and homemakers...instead they were raised in that archetypal 50s masculine mode of "authoritarian head of household, financial provider and dominant force"- which is offputting to their female peers who were being told by the same type of parents that they can get an education, be something for themselves AND a mother, etc. Instead of reckoning with the idea of change, these left-behind men are now fully invested in shoving the feminist genie back in the bottle in the most draconian ways.... and look, daddy kink is great when both parties consent, but when one party doesn't want or need a daddy and that dynamic is being forced on them, it's attempted assault NOT sexual pleasure. So they sit in their basements watching awful porn, getting more and more resentful, and blaming women for wanting things they have no idea how to give and no interest in learning how to.
