Hello, Moral High Grounders! If you love this newsletter and you’re able, PLEASE become a paying subscriber for less than 6 bucks a month.
If you’re newer around these parts, click here to learn what this place is all about, why you should support this joint and why you belong here. Welcome to all the many new readers!
One reason to become a paying subscriber is that independent media is more important than ever in these dark days of Donald Trump, and it’s under more threat than ever before. The voices you value need to have the resources to stand firm and keep speaking out, because quite frankly, you never know who these fucking tyrants are going to go after next. Help me remain and grow as one of those voices!
I promise to keep calling them extremely creative and mean names, and to keep calling it as I see it.
Your subscription dollars also support new projects like these, which seeks to be a counterpoint every time one of these motherfuckers accuses LGBTQ+ people of “grooming” or hurting kids. Who actually hurts kids? Oh actually it’s conservative Christians and Republicans.
OK, on with today’s newsletter. Oh look, it’s about one garbage human conservative Christian in particular.
Look at this disgusting video of White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, praying to Jesus before one of her press briefings this week. It really fucking offended me.
With that look permanently affixed to her face that says, “I am the person you hated the most in your Sunday School class,” Leavitt harassed Jesus for the benefit of the cameras, saying:
“Lord Jesus, please give us the strength, the knowledge, the ability to articulate our words, and have fun and be confident in Jesus’s name. Amen.”
Oh fuck off.
She asked Jesus to let her have fun and “articulate our words,” right before she went out and told a bunch of sick, evil, Nazi lies to the American people, like she does every day, often wearing her great big huge cross around her neck.
And she did have fun that day! So much fun! (That’s a Gateway Pundit link, fair warning.)
At least she didn’t ask for the courage to speak the truth.
Reckon God would’ve struck her down right then and there.
What Does The Bible Say About Self-Righteous Assholes Like Karoline Leavitt Praying In Front Of A Live Studio Audience Like This?
As this newsletter has discussed, regardless of what they say, there is no entity conservative Christian MAGA garbage hates more than Jesus.
So they really hate it when you emphasize teachings from the Bible spoken directly by Jesus, since they have not made room in their hearts for Him. Oh, they pay lip service, but by their fruits shall ye know them, as Jesus explained in Matthew 7:16-20 (KJV):
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Does the MAGA Trump Nazi White House bring forth good fruit, or is it one of those corrupt trees bringeth-ing forth evil fruit?
But about that praying. One chapter before that, Jesus is talking and He says in Matthew 6:5-7 (KJV):
5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.
6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.
Now, Bible class, do we think the White House tweeting videos of Karoline Leavitt being the Best Christian Ever and saying prayers to Jesus before the press briefing so that MAGA can brag about how holy and good she is counts as going into your room and closing the door? Or is she more like the dickheads on the fucking street corner demanding to be heard?
And what does Jesus have to say about people who say performative prayers and then go out and tell the American people lies, fucking lies, and Nazi goddamned fucking lies? What does He say about people who lie and say of innocent dad Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia — who is alive, thank God — that there is “a lot of evidence” that he is a “convicted member of MS-13”?
What does Jesus think about people who lie and say they’ve seen that evidence?
What does Jesus think about people who start freeform lying, just making shit up as they go along, saying Abrego Garcia is an “MS-13 ringleader,” and that “he is involved in human trafficking”?
What does Jesus think about people who continued this week to smear Abrego Garcia as a “foreign terrorist,” lying about the circumstances of his arrest, lying about what judges believed about his gang status, and then immediately pivoted into letting the mother of a girl brutally raped and murdered by a different man from El Salvador speak about the horrific ordeal she’s been through.
The message? Guilt by association. That all Hispanic men are dangerous, murderous gang members and rapists. That the common denominator for what makes people do that is their very status as immigrants. In the blood libel propaganda world of the Trump Nazis, Haitian immigrants eat family pets, and all undocumented immigrants from Spanish-speaking countries are violent murderers and rapists.
What does Jesus think of the prayers of this vile Aryan creep who lies to the American people like that, as she spits and seethes about how “despicable” it is that Democrats and other non-Nazis see the people Trump is sending to concentration camps as human?
Yes, What DOES Jesus Think About People Like Karoline Leavitt?
Well, He does say in Matthew 15:18-20 (ESV) that “what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person,” adding shortly after that this includes “false witness” and “slander.”
So there’s that, which could describe Leavitt and every press secretary who’s ever defiled themselves with their mouth spewings for Trump.
But Jesus also said something else about Christians like Karoline Leavitt, and like Kayleigh McEnany, and like Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and so many more just like them. It’s in Matthew 7, verses 21 through 23. (Directly after the section about how bad trees can’t bear good fruit.) It’s one of those passages that white conservative Christians, due to their terminal Disney Princess Theology and Main Character Syndrome, can never ever fucking ever understand is directly about them, while it’s ever so fucking obvious to anyone else who Jesus was talking about. That passage goes like this in the New King James Version:
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
And that is my Easter message to Karoline Leavitt and every other member of the Trump administration who wants to tell us what a fucking Christian they are.
It is also Jesus’s message.
Maybe if she accepted Christ into her rotten, black heart, she wouldn’t be like this.
And that, friends, is your Moral High Ground Holy Week message!

“...she had without exception the most stupid, vulgar, empty mind that he had ever encountered. She had not a thought in her head that was not a slogan, and there was no imbecility, absolutely none that she was not capable of swallowing if the Party handed it out to her. 'The human sound-track' he nicknamed her in his own mind.” - George Orwell, 1984
Can I get a Hallelujah! That they never understand the hypocrisy that is so obvious to the rest of us constantly astounds me, and is what has driven me (and so many others) away from organized religion. Keep doing the good work!
