If you are a daughter who was beaten by her father (because what else could a vigorous spanking that hurts you be?) this isn’t creepy or pervy. It is absolutely terrifying.

My father beat me more than once. Way more. Because I was a rebellious child who was fresh. (“Don’t be fresh.”). Who started things. (“Don’t start.). Who didn’t listen. (“Shut up and listen.”). And as he spanked me “vigorously,” he would get more and more frenzied because his actions were not getting the result he wanted - which ultimately was a different daughter who he would not have to hit to feel like a father. And of course, that was never going to happen.

Carlson’s shriek of anger and punishment is very familiar to me. And while my father’s expression of it did not change me into the girl he wanted, it did change me forever. I am a person who people tend to recognize as successful. Yet, I wonder what and who I could have been if my father has not battered me? How much more confident? How much more resilient? How much more creative, more capable? How much less guarded?

This is the first time I have gone public with my history. (I am in my 60’s.) It feels awful to do so. But I can’t, I can’t let this go unsaid.

My dad got off on it sexually as well

I'm so sorry. Men wielding their physical power over physically weaker people (children or women) is sick.

My mother did most of the discipline in my family, and there were a few spankings, but more making us stay in our rooms or not going to a friend's house or having a friend over. Oh, and being the 1960s and 1970s, no TV, record playing, or telephone use. Once she literally washed out my younger brother's mouth and my mouth out with soap; clearly we said something bad, but I don't remember what it was.

Thank you for sharing it. I too am feeling retraumatized. My dad's physical abuse was mostly mild, but it was always a tantrum framed as discipline, which didn't impress me much, since he was sneaking into my bedroom at night for sexual gratification. I don't think I was rebellious by nature, but that began a lifetime of questioning authority,

I feel you. If every woman/man who has ever been battered, sexually abused, or raped either as a child or an adult just voted against the adjudicated rapists and his twisted followers, statistically that would be somewhere above 70% of the population, according to OLD FBI statistics from the 1980s, when I dealt with having been raped by becoming a volunteer rape crisis counselor as a paraprofessional. I don't even know where to send this information so it would be seen by more than my few Facebook friends. These people like Tucker Carlson are so obviously damaged, so blatantly shouting their intentions to continue the cycle of abuse, that it makes me want to throw up on my way to my next migraine.

Thank you for speaking out. I know how terrifying and just utterly painful it is, especially the first time. I want to acknowledge your courage in writing what you have, and in making of your life the success that you did. ✨️ If it's true that we are strongest where we were broken and healed (or even just keep it together) then we are a mighty force in ourselves. Imagine if all of us got together, on purpose, and used our strength and our voices to defeat these abusers, to beat them at the ballot box in return for what was done to us by others like them!

I'm marking 50 consecutive years of dental surgery thanks to the lessons my dad taught me!

Omg. Blessed Be to you, I cannot imagine how many levels of pain you must have. Virtual hugs and a prayer that your ordeal reaches a place of no more surgeries and some peace

A few years before he died my father explained things pretty simply: “I had a few bad days at work. What was I supposed to do?”

In my case, it was my mom who did it, but it's the same PTSD. That was why I left home when I was 15.

Tucker's Daddy's Home shtick is one of, no, THE, creepiest, most pervy, outpouring of disgusting rhetoric I've ever witnessed. And we've all been subjected to a lot of that shit since Big Daddy came down that elevator.

Hitler would be ashamed to be associated with MAGA.

This totally triggered me! And I was warned! Dad happily giving vigorous spankings that were not deserved! Fucker is talking about spanking Kamala, and they are all getting off on the imagined violence that they want to inflict on women who don’t know their rightful place. They are all so sick. Please please please can we turn the page on this stupid timeline and let real adults take over for a bit?

If you have to use violence to compel respect, you are not deserving respect. If you enjoy using violence to compel respect, you will always find new ways to feel disrespected.....

"If you allow your two-year-old to smear the contents of his diapers on the wall of your living room, and you do nothing about it"

MAGAts smeared their feces on the walls of the U.S. Capitol and that was okay with Dear Leader and his sycophants.

“He’s not vengeful. He loves his children, disobedient as they may be, he loves them because they’re his children. They live in his house."

No, we do not live in "Donald Trump's house." We live in the United States of fucking America. This country does not belong to that PAB, except in the masturbatory fantasies of those wishing for their own American Hitler/Putin. We are not going back.

So it's time for a spanking if your 2-year-old smears the contents of his diaper on the wall of your house but if your 50-year-old smears the contents of his diaper on the walls of our Capitol he gets a presidential pardon. These people are beyond sick and perverted, they are quite literally insane. And these morons wonder why their kids haven't talked to them for 15 years.

This is beyond sick. Beating a child is monstrous enough. Beating a 15 year old daughter because she’s been naughty is fuckbonkers disgusting insane. It doesn’t make one manly or strong. It highlights their absolute brokenness. I need a shower. And brain bleach. And for these people to stay the fuck away from me and even further from my daughter. Jesus wept!

Was Tucker high? Does he really think today’s women won’t go after him and his empty headed followers? This is not your great grandmother’s generation of women, Tuck. We will not go back.

"Wonder how many men in an average MAGA crowd are on the sex offender registry, or should be." I laughed at this at first and then it struck me how true it is, especially the "should be" part.

Mama took care of disciplinary issues before Daddy got home, she didn't believe in that "wait until your father gets home" crap. The advantage was that we got our punishment over with and didn't have to think about it or worry about it.

BTW, what does being able to change a tire or being able to drive have to do with leading the country? Can trump do either? Why is it only a problem for Harris? Answers: Nothing, nope, and because she's a Black woman (has to dance backwards in high heels, while wearing a ball and chain).

My daughters could do those things before they got their learners permit at 15. Also how to check oil and fluids, use cables to jump-start a car with dead battery - and how to remove and install a battery.

And I, their mother, taught them.

Tuckums is very, very threatened by Black women who are smarter, more accomplished and more successful than he will ever be.

I am concerned about Little Lord Swansonboy's daughters. He has three. Were they subject to his Dangerous Daddy fantasies?

Now, I want hard core evidence that The Cowardly Quisling From Queens has ever, or could ever, change a tire. And when did that act become a prerequisite for the Presidency? Obviously sometime after 1895. What was required before that? Shoeing a horse?
